    No. You cannot change cellulite from the outside in. The only way to truly get rid of cellulite is to have it sucked out of your body with liposuction. The way products like Velasmooth work is by affecting the appearace of the skin on top of the fat. It works by making the skin drier, which makes it more firm (try letting egg whites dry on your skin…it firms it up in much the same way). Don’t waste your money. The Today Show might be trustworthy, but the product is best left for celebrities who prefer a quick fix lotion or creme to liposuction.

    Yes, it does work on a high % of patients. It can come back as you gain weight or age, but it does offer dramatically improved results. To the other poster how said it works from the outside in, so it can’t work…..does that mean microwave ovens can’t cook food?

    Anyway, sorry about the bad analogy. One of the things that Velasmooth is trying to accomplish is to remove fat through drainage and more importently, add collagen to the connective tissue that causes the dimpling effect.

    Cellulite is caused by two things, 1) Fatty tissue and 2) Connective tissue.

    The second is more problematic and gets worse as you age because collagen is not regenerated so the tissue becomes less elastic and of course most people gain weight as they age because of a less active life style and a drop in metabolism.

    This is where Velasmooth or mesotherapy come in handy.
