I read an article the other day that some doctors debate whether or not cellulite exists.  This is absolutely ridiculous.  All I need to do is go to the beach or lake during the summer, and the evidence is all around me.

Scientifically, cellulite is the result of bad skin structure, often from genetics, which makes the skin fibers prone to split. And when they split, fat and toxins deposit into the holes in the fibers, creating the lumpy effect. I know it sounds gross, but hey, let’s understanding the enemy will help us get rid of it.   And also quite obvious,  women are more prone to this than men are.  Since the problem is largely genetic, we women have to do what we can to minimize the effects of cellulite.

Strengthening the skin fibers, plumping up the skin’s surface, and breaking down the stubborn fat and toxin deposits can help minimize the appearance of cellulite. Things like home remedies and cellulite crème definitely help.

Below are some of the more popular techniques to rejuvinate your skin and help reduce or eliminate cellulite.

Massage
Massage increases circulation to the areas filled with fat and toxins to help release them. The best kind of massage is an endermologie. However, if you prefer to save your money instead of getting endermologie treatments at a spa, here’s a better way.

Instead of massaging, knead the cellulite areas to help break down toxins and fat. Sometimes rollers or other massage devices will help to really work the skin. Of course, the pressure used at a spa or salon will be stronger, but you can still improve your cellulite on your own. Use a moisturizer, cellulite creme, or massage oil, preferably a detoxing one.  (Using a moisturizing body lotion daily will give you plumped-out skin which shows less cellulite than dehydrated skin.)

Spend at least 10 minutes on each area massaging with high pressure right on the cellulite. Use a twisting and circular motion with the intention of keeping circulation high. Firm cellulite areas will need vigorous rubbin with the roller or with your knuckles of your hand.  This process may sound somewhat painful, and it is.  Stick with it though and you will see improvements within a few weeks.

Exercise
Have you ever seen a good aerobics instructor with bad cellulite?  Workouts are good for you, and not just workouts concentrated on the cellulite areas.  Workouts promote detoxification through sweat glands, and the movement causes things in your body, including your skin, to get shaken up.  (I know, I know, you hate working out and sweating, but suck it up ladies.)  I suggest starting 3 times per week in a simple aerobics training class, and moving to 4 to 5 times a week as you body gets stronger.

Diet
Can diet really make a difference?  The answer is yes, but it’s not like a pill, where you will see results in 24 hours. The best anti-cellulite diet is filled with natural organic foods, including high doses of vegetables. They contain essential skin-firming nutrients, as well as lots of water to help wash away the toxins and plump up the skin. Try and restrict your diet so only about 25 percent of your daily calories come from fat. This regiment will also keep your skin hydrated, which will help reduce the visibility of cellulite. You should also drink at least two or three quarts of water, or herbal teas daily.

Anti Cellulite Creme
An ingredient called phosphodiesterase inhibitors stop the production of the enzyme that leads to fat storage in the body and this causes the dimples to shrink. This ingredient can be found in many anti cellulite crèmes on the market.

Im doing an assignment and can’t find the answer anywhere! Please help… Thank you!

Deep tissue massage can help break up and improve the appearance of cellulite in many people. So can massage focused upon the lymph system in the area and mechanical lymph stimulation. The problems associated with this are mostly cultural and ethical especially for the opposite sex practitioner.

The areas most involved are the buttocks and upper thigh. While I have had a number of female clients quite comfortable with the inclusion of their buttocks in their massage, it usually is based upon developed trust, but in the cellulite treatment I see some real possible issues and risks that may not be worth taking especially with a new client whose views and attitudes are unknown.

Deep tissue massage in those areas is going to be rather probing and may be uncomfortable both in depth and due to the intimate nature of the area. Draining the lymphatic system there involves not just the buttocks and thighs, but the inguinal area again raising the issue of intimacy beyond professional limits. Last there are a number of practitioners who have found mechanical stimulation to the lymph system to be superior and the use of a professional vibrator so intimately on a female patient could easily run you afoul of most state’s practice act if misunderstood by the client. Asking the client to wear a thong may help alleviate the risk to some degree and make clear your profession intentions, but you would be at the mercy of your least stable client who complained about sexual advances. I would think this type of procedure is best referred to a same sex practitioner. There are just some jobs not worth taking on. Unfortunately as a man in health care there is a double standard and you need to be hyper aware of it to avoid trouble. (assuming you are male bruce lee fan)

That is the day after sex.

What do they look like? Is cellulite the diply skin? And stretchmarks the ‘concave creases’ on teh skin or the pink brusing lines?

And why do people get them? Is it fat people?

If you do get them is it permanent? Or say if you lost alot of weight your stretch marks and cellutilt disappear?

Cellulite is the dimply looking skin…yes. But it doesn’t necessarily have to look dimply for it to be considered cellulite. It’s a fat build-up I believe…you can find products from Clarins that are supposed to help elminate the look of them. Often products that have caffeine in them, as it stimulates the area…sadly enough though, there has been nothing that honestly proven to eliminate them. Exercise to avoid them.

Stretchmarks are the stripes. Yup, they can be pink, or white. You can prevent them at the early stages if they’re still pink but many women will get them when their skin stretches at a rate faster than it is meant to. For instance, when pregnant, your skin stretches to accomodate the baby…the rate at which it is stretching is fairly quick, and your skin may not be that pliable and well moisturized. (keep in mind that some women are predisposed to these types of stretch marks…look at your mom for an idea..)
Of course pregnancy isn’t the only way to get stretch marks…but to make a long story short, it’s because your body is stretching..and no, it’s not limited to just "fat people".

Not ’sore’…. but perhaps ‘tender’ would better describe how my skin feels in places.
I don’t have sores, boils etc .As I explained it is tender rather than broken sores of boils.

nope………i might need a closer look.e-mail me.

oh crikey more thumbs down………im gonna have to look for another site thats got a sense of humour attached to it.

I was just googling cellulite and came across the dry brushing technique. It seems very beneficial and great if it’s true, but I was wondering if anyone has tried it and has actually seen results.

For those who don’t know about it, here’s a link. http://www.naturalhealthtechniques.com/healingtechniques/Dry_Brushing_Technique.htm

It’s not really a way to snag your money because you can do it using a simple towel at home.

I had a cellulite reduction session a while back, after the treatment i was told to dry body brush to keep the results. I brushed daily for about a month and a half as i was told until i fell off of the schedule. The obvious appearance of my cellulite soon returned. Im not sure if it was all in my head but i really believe it worked!

becomes from harder in touch to–>smoother and more "dissoluble" like -when you touch it- what doest THAT mean?

If you’ve been massaging it, it could be smoothing out (possible). But, my husband has fat deposits (mainly in torso) that the Dr. says is nothing to worry about. They are almost-solid (like big moles) under the skin (same coloring as skin) that just seem worrisome. The only thing I’ve heard about skin cancer is mis-shaped moles & unusual colorings/bumps. The next time you’re going to the Dr., go ahead and ask. Otherwise, do a Google search for cellulite & see what you get!

I’ve had stretchmarks since I was 15 and I’ve never been over a size 12 or pregnant. They’re all around my waist and they’re very dark in color. Is there anyway to get rid of them or lighten them up to match my skin tone? What about cellulite in betwen the thighs?

I used Bio oil a while ago, for like 2 months. Then forgot about it. BuT I can’t see the stretch marks anymore. It’s only around 10 bucks at a drugstore. It’s definitely worth trying.

i have started gaining visible cellulite tissue in my tummy-buttocks n thighs….. n wonna avoid it. i m lil bit inactive these days. …i wonna target these tisue only as i m in my normal range of weight…..pls help.

You have to:
– avoid fast food and sodas
– massage your problem areas
– scrub your problem areas (coffee ground scrubs work pretty well and cost nothing)
– use a contrast shower
– go for some body wrapping procedures.

Combined all together, these will make your cellulite invisible in several weeks – guaranteed! :) . I work on it all the time and nobody knows I got cellulite.
